The West Pier is one of those Brighton landmarks that gets under your skin. I love coming down to the seafront on a winter evening to watch the murmurations, the starlings moving in great sweeping clouds above the old pier skeleton. It is one of the most remarkable things you can see on the Sussex coast and it costs nothing but time.

I wanted to capture that dusk moment, the ironwork reflected in the water, the birds filling the sky above it.
